As noted in the blog: Many people have dealt with the dilemma of what to do with their excessive grocery bags that have accumulated over the years. It is estimated that 100 billion plastic grocery bags are distributed throughout the US every year. Very few of these bags end up being recycled, only about 1 to 2% . These statistics mean many of these bags end up haphazardly floating around in landfills or being stockpiled in peoples homes.
